Dubbed the “happiest 5K on the planet”, The Color Run™ 2015 will be in Durban on July 12.

The Color Run is a feel-good, happy, colourful event. “Color Runners”go from wearing white clothing to being covered in prismatic colour. At each kilometre mark, a different colour of powder is showered on the participants, creating an ever-increasing spectrum of colour and beauty. At the finish line, the colour festival kicks off and the promises to be filled with millions of vivid colours as runners get in on the colour-throwing fun.

The Color Run is the single largest 5km event series in the world, which hosted more than 300 events in over 50 countries in 2014. It’s already been run in Port Elizabeth in May, with over 7 000 Color Runners participating in the fun.

Durban Color Runners can expect lots of exciting additions, including in-race obstacles a sprinkle of glitter and a few other surprises.

The Durban leg of The Color Run is raising funds for education and Capitec Bank, the new headline sponsor of the event, has committed a R10 donation for every ticket purchased towards this cause.

Registration for the Durban run is open. Every runner will receive a R200 voucher from Takealot.com for the purchase of The Color Run powder and merchandise, as well as a R200 voucher from Superbalist to be redeemed against a minimum spend of R250.

Charity and school fundraising is a big part of The Color Run. Register your school or charity on the Fun Raiser programme and raise R20 for every ticket sold under your unique Fun Raiser code. To give back, e-mail  The Color Run.

Tickets are available on line from the website and Facebook.

If you buy your tickets before June 22, it will cost you R100. Thereafter, individual ticket prices are R150 and R200 on the day.
