Lupa-liscious!

Lupa-liscious!

Durban
Lupa has established itself in the Hillcrest and Westville areas, with restaurants that offer authentic Italian cuisine in a friendly, family setting. But for us ‘coastliners’, it’s definitely a bit of a schlep getting up that hill – especially if you want to partake of the delicious cocktails and wines on offer. So I was very happy to hear that a new branch had opened recently in Durban North. Twice we thought we’d get a walk-in booking, twice we were disappointed. But this weekend, we were fortunate to get in between the lunch and supper rush. (more…)

[caption id="attachment_268" align="alignright" width="300"] Loving my hair![/caption] Nestled in a quiet, tree-lined street in uMhlanga Ridge is a little gem of a salon. I'm a sucker for all things purple, but I swear the fact that Style Studio on 7, Salon and Training Centre, is decorated in my favourite shade is only part of the reason I plan on making a trip to the salon a monthly ritual. Professional staff who offer excellent style advice, an owner who is as mad as a hatter but with a heart of pure gold, and excellent coffee – my patronage at this establishment is simply a no-brainer. From a sumptuous breakfast at the Health Bar to a display of the latest treatments on offer to a luxurious massage with the Spa’s own range of proudly South African products – it really was a morning of pure indulgence. Nestled at the rear of the Oyster Box hotel, in a luscious garden, the atmosphere even before you enter the Spa itself is tranquil and relaxing. (more…)
