Has anyone else noticed the rising number of events occurring at secret locations around the city of late?<\/p>\n

I\u2019ve come across two unusual and interesting events coming up in March and April that piqued my interest. They’re completely different concepts but their ultimate aim is uplift, inspire and celebrate the city we live in.<\/p>\n

\"secret<\/p>\n

Secret Sunrise Durban<\/strong><\/p>\n

Secret Sunrise Durban takes place on Thursday, March 17, at a location somewhere in the city, to be revealed 24 hours before the event.<\/p>\n

Secret Sunrise has already been a success in Johannesburg and Cape Town \u2013 and this is the first event in Durban.<\/p>\n

According to the website, \u201cSecret Sunrises are a\u00a0gathering of like minded individuals who are not scared of radical self expression, movement, love, connection\u2026 and to make\u00a0the time to celebrate the rising sun.<\/p>\n

The venues are chosen to inspire and offer a safe space for us to connect with ourselves, others, the rising sun and dance.\u00a0\u201cWe believe the\u00a0city is our playground, it is our duty to make it whatever we want it to be. So Secret Sunrise venues are kept a secret until the last minute,\u201d says the website<\/p>\n

Beginning at 6am, Secret Sunrise is a guided dance event that celebrates the Durban sunrise. Instructors, silent headphones and the morning sun aim to help ease you into the day.<\/p>\n

Tickets cost R100 and you can book them online at Quicket<\/a>. No tickets will be sold at the venue, unfortunately.<\/p>\n

Wireless headphones will be provided and smoothies will be available to kick start your day.<\/p>\n

Ticket holders will receive an e-mail within 24 hours of the event, revealing the location and providing more details about the event. What I do know is that it promises to be an epic experience somewhere in the Durban City Bowl.<\/p>\n

\"grandThe Grand White SA<\/strong><\/p>\n

This is the third Grand White event to be hosted in Durban.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s also a nationwide event, with other gatherings happening in Cape Town, Johannesburg and Pretoria.<\/p>\n

Boasting 8 000 guests back in 2014 and 13 000 guests last year, this is clearly a hugely popular gathering of people wanting to share an afternoon of fun, food and laughter.<\/p>\n

There is no real goal except to spend a relaxed afternoon and evening with friends and\/or family \u2013 at a secret location. The day is about making new friends and networking, while enjoying good food, live music, speeches and other entertainment.<\/p>\n

The only rule is you dress in white with a touch of green.<\/p>\n

\"grand<\/p>\n

This year, The Grand White Durban takes place on Saturday, April 16 from 2-10pm.<\/p>\n

Tickets can be purchased online at Nu Tickets <\/a>or Ticket Pro<\/a>.\u00a0If you\u2019re booking online, tickets start from R380 + booking fees. Or you can buy them at Ticket Pro outlets around the country. Visit the Ticket Pro website<\/a> \u00a0for an outlet closest to you.<\/p>\n

Tickets cover entry to the event, a traditional white serviette for the opening ceremony and a fire sparkle for the closing.<\/p>\n

You can bring your own picnic basket as well as\u00a0drinks, or you can purchase them online or at the event. A picnic basket (for two) costs R385, with a choice of three menus, including vegetarian.<\/p>\n

The venue will be revealed at 9am on the morning of the gathering via e-mail, SMS and a message on your Facebook page. The Facebook<\/a> page will provide you with all the necessary updates about the event.<\/p>\n
