I’m a great believer in buying local and boosting the local economy. I pride myself on buying only South African designer wear – there are so many talented artists in our country producing clothing of exceptional quality.
So, I’m very excited about the upcoming Big Big Designer sale – it is not to be missed.
Designers Amanda Laird Cherry, Karen Monk Klijnstra, Helge Jansen and Ikhiwane will be discounting their end-of-summer ranges and fashion accessories and you’re bound to pick up a few classic pieces at bargain prices.
I’ve attended one such gathering before and have to say I was very happy with the large pile of treasures I amassed at great sale prices. So I’m hoping this year will be the same.
The sale takes place at the Embocraft training room – next to the Woza Moya Embo shop in Bothas Hill.
Even if you don’t find an item of clothing, take the time to browse through the Woza Moya Embo shop which carries handmade crafts all made in the area. From beadwork to ceramics and hand carving, there is a wide variety of beautiful things to look at.
There will also be an exhibition of exquisite beaded jewellery on display by Sphamandla Mdluli at the Woza Moya gallery.
The sale starts at 10am on February 25 and runs till March 7. The shop will be open from 8am to 4pm Mondays to Fridays and 8am to 2pm on Saturdays.[contact-form-7 404 "Not Found"]
